A crochet lion hat for a girl

My friend Sally asked me to make her a hat for a little girl.
She wanted it to be a lion.
She even sent me a picture of one she had found.

Pattern can be found here if you would like
Now this is a perfectly fine lion.
Just not at all the right one for a little girl.
As I search, I realized there wasn't one.

So I did what I do and made my own.

I think it is perfect for a little girl.
What do you think??

This week.....

I have been busy crochet hats.
I didn't just do one or two.
No way!
I knocked out FOUR!

I made this one using this pattern.
This was my first time making this one.
I always get nervouse when I try a new pattern.
I crochet tight and usually have to adjust the pattern.
Not this time!!
Her pattern was spot on.
I might just make one for myself.

I made this cutie with this pattern.
I absoluletly love the patterns over at Repeat Crafter Me.
She has a ton to choose from.
(I highly recommended checking out her blog)
All of the patterns include multiple sizes and great pictures.
Oh and I almost forgot they are FREE!!!!!
(I love free stuff, don't you?)
I honestly thought it would be time consuming.
I can't tell you how excited I was when I finish in one day.

I didn't use a pattern on this one.
I based it off one I made using this pattern.
I love how it turned out.
It has already received high praise from my youngest.
I think she might of been hinting that she wanted one.
I'll make hers right after I finish mine.

 And
one more minion!
This one makes my total minion count at 17.

What have you been up to this week?

Hats, Hats and More Hats

I decided after this post I need to share a few of the hats I have made. Some of the hats I followed a pattern, some I just made off an image I saw.

All of the hats I love!!

I have made hats for my girls, myself, my family, my friends and people I haven't even know.
I have made hats for both the young and the not so young.

I can not even tell you how excited I get when I see someone wearing a hat I have made.

With the exception of the owl hat (pattern here), I made these hats just by looking at different pictures.

The zebra and giraffe pattern can be found here.  The other two I  went off a picture.

These hats I did use a pattern, sadly I can't find them. I apologize for not give credit where it is deserved.
I will update this post when I locate the information.

This is only a sampling of all the hats. It's hard for me to pick a favorite.
For others I believe it is the minion hat.
I have made at least fifteen.

What about you do, you have a favorite?

An Olfa Hat

About two years ago I finally managed to teach myself to crochet. Since than I have made dish clothes, scarfs, stuffies, slippers and hats.....A LOT OF HATS!

I love making hats! They work up quick, are inexpensive to make (compared to buying one), keep the receipent warm and look cute on!

Every year I make my girls at least one new hat. When I saw this Olfa hat on Pinterest by Hopeful Honey, I knew I had to make it for my youngest.

My Olfa
Last year on my birthday, I kept both girls home from school (doesn't everyone do this). We had a great day together. We finished the day at the movies watching you guessed it......Frozen!
I have to say this was by far my favorite Disney movie. I loved that the story line was centered around two sisters.

I think she likes it!
The pattern was super easy to follow and adjust (pattern is written for 4-10 year) to fit other sizes. Since the first one I have made one for toddler. Next up is an adult size.

I have found a few other hat patterns over at Hopeful Honey that I am going to attempt.  I think this one is going to be next.

What do you think???
